PRELIMINARY CONCEPT OF HIS EMINENCE LAURIAN CARDINAL RUGAMBWA MEMORIAL BUNENA LAKE VICTORIA ROCK BEACH PILGLIMAGE RESORT PROJECT.
Introduction
The proposed Garden is
set to be by the beach side , it is ment to be a commemoration garden for Cardinal
Rugambwa , A tourist Attraction , a meditation and social Garden for people of
all walks of life From in and outside
the country.
The Beach area is made of stones , rocks and
this is were all the attraction should be centered on. On my Visit
and observation at least 80 % of this Garden rocks are un accessible,
positioned randomly and slanting from the church down words to the Lake. Characterized with deep pits in between them, Huge
gaps and some small gaps. In between the gaps are vegetation and may be some
are harbors of animals.
To create a garden out
of this area the first initial step is to make the rocks accessible by either
covering the pits between them, removing or leveling the randomly placed rocks
and then identifying areas were Gardens, buildings, and any other attraction
that would be placed in the gardens.
Amongst the concepts
that I gathered from my hosts of what they would ideally like the Gardens to be
was:-
1.
Hostel
(Plan is existent)
2.
Cultural
center that would show the culture of the natives.
3. Meditation area that would link souls to God (way of the Cross area)
4. Musuem
5. Library
6. Beach dock (Cross boat to the island)
7. Recreation beach areas beside the waters with canteens and cafeterias
8. A stretch walk path besides water connecting the Recreational beach
areas.
9. Cardinal Rugambwa monument and memorial ground.
To deliver to expectations of the Natives
while delivering an international tourist attraction I combined the proposed
attractions and created two concepts.
Concept
1
Considering the size and nature of the
proposed Garden area this is a simple concept that shall reflect all the
aspects we are focusing to deliver that is Pilgrimage, and tourist center.
We need three aspects present
1. A meditation area (way of the cross)
2. A garden aspect. (Rock Gardens)
3. And a Rugambwa memorial center (Musuem, Rugambwa Monument)
The delivery concept should base on culture
by using local building materials finished to perfection. Such finishing should
include touches like
1. Slated stone floar both in and out door venues
2. Grass thatched roofings with mats as ceiling
3. Poll structures pillars for shelter needed areas
4. Cultural décor like wood statues (vinyago) native art and finishing,
artistic flower verses and gardening.
5. The buildings and any construction should be done or finished with
stone looks.
With this concept build this way it shall
deliver the following in the visitors minds
1. An environment to meditate with God since all is a pilgrimage
2. A relaxing natural world in the Garden
3. A native cultural feel of the native world through their cultural
displays
4. Who was Rugambwa and what he meant to both the catholic religion and
church and the natives of Bunena and Tanzania
Building Plan
In the Picture and marks below.
1. Mark 1 is is the Rugambwa memorial area it shall be a museum and
library with all Rugambwas history.

pilgrimage monument

Concept
2
It is a little complex concept. It combines
our main deliveries (Pilgrimage, tourist center,) adding in more luisure and
relaxation. With two beach spots near the water, and a stretch walk joining the points.
Apart from the three main aspects we
delivered in the first concept below
1. A meditation area (way of the cross)
2. A garden aspect. (Rock Gardens)
3. And a Rugambwa memorial center (Musuem, Rugambwa Monument)
We are adding in a forth one which is
leisure at the beach by including two beach area spots with stretch beach walk with a dock and cafeterias
which makes it a more relaxation world after the long pilgrimage walk.
With all aspects considered , these are some of the things native s would
like to see:
1.
Hostel
(Plan is existent)
2.
Cultural
center that would show the culture of the natives.
3. Meditation area that would link souls to God (way of the Cross area)
4. Musuem
5. Library
6. Beach dock (Cross boat to the island)
7. Recreation beach areas beside the waters with canteens and
cafeterias
8. A stretch walk path besides water connecting the Recreational beach
areas.
9. Cardinal Rugambwa monument and memorial ground.
Unlike the first concept this one shall
have more to deliver in terms of construction. Apart from the main attractions
we shall have many perched Rock Garden perches and shelters.
In this top view figure these are the
developments that we shall see as of the google map. The fading white is our
working area. And the numbered marks are the Garden developments
1. Mark 1 is the Rugambwa memorial area it shall be a museum and
library with all Rugambwas history.
2. Mark 23 is Rugambwa Pilgrimage monument
3. Marrk 24 is the final walk shelter (Picture gallary)
4. Mrks 2,4,6,3,10,5,11,12,7,18
garden shelters
5. Marks 8 and 14 are cafetarias
6. Marks 9 and 15 are beach arrears
7. Marks 13 beach stretch walks
8. Marks 25 Boat docks area
9. Marks 16 Meditation centre (way of the cross)
10. Mark 17 is the entrance monument with Christ the King
11. Mark 19 is the Hostel
12. Mark 22 is the main Garden entrance
All these areas shall be joined by
Meandering Foot paths with stone slat
floar finishing. The garden shelters shall be designed in wood pillars , a
stone base 1 foot foundation, grass
thatched shelter with mats as the ceilings.
For
the open Gardens they shall be with in stone boundaries.
According to the rocky nature of this place
every shelter , garden or building shall come with its own challenge
since the rocks are randomly placed. We should work around the placement of the
rocks so as to maintain the original rocky looks.
